Lucky whale experts were thrilled when over a thousand dolphins surrounded their boat, darting and leaping in the water.

The company’s bigger boats were out of action for winter maintenance in preparation for the start of the 2025 season, so they sent out a scouting boat to survey the local coastline.
“We covered 62 miles round trip from Monterey to Point Sur and counted 33 gray whales, 1,500+ Risso’s dolphins [and] 3 northern right whale dolphins,” they say. Luckily, their Captain Evan Brodsky was on hand with his camera to capture footage of the incredible super pod.
