When four NASA astronauts returned to Earth after months in space, everyone was excited to watch their splashdown – even a pod of dolphins!
Suni Williams, Butch Wilmore, Nick Hague, and Aleksandr Gorbunov – members of NASA's SpaceX Crew-9 mission – have been in space for several months.
“Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore began their mission at the International Space Station on June 6, 2024,” says NASA. “Nick Hague and Aleksandr Gorbunov arrived at the station on Sept. 29, 2024.”
Their long-awaited return home – Williams and Wilmore were supposed to be on the mission for just 10 days, but ended up staying for more than nine months due to technical difficulties – was even celebrated by the non-human beings on our planet.
"Now here on your screen we can see… dolphins actually! Who want to come and play,” says the narrator describing the scene on the live stream.
