The giant Pacific octopus (Enteroctopus dofleini) is the world’s largest octopus species, with an average arm span of just over 4m.
Adults usually weigh about 15kg, although it's not uncommon for larger individuals to hit the 50kg mark.
Found in the cold, nutrient-rich waters of the North Pacific, this intelligent cephalopod is a master of disguise, using chromatophores in its skin to change colour and texture instantly.
