Taking place at Olympia London on 18-19 January, the Adventure Travel Show is the UK's only event dedicated to experiences off the beaten track.
The show includes a wide range of over 70 talks, plus seminars, and the Adventure Film Festival on Saturday evening.
Wildlife talks include:
- Women in Wildlife Filming - Sophie Darlington and Tania Estaban
- An Eye Below Zero - Doug Allan (read our interview with Doug Allan in our October 2019 issue)
- Gorilla Trekking in Uganda
- On Conservation Safari in Zimbabwe
BBC Wildlife editor Paul McGuinness was on the panel of judges for the show's photography competition, “Adventure means something different to each of us – for some it’s about trekking, climbing or diving, while others think of jungles, deserts or oceans. So judging a competition about what adventure means is a very personal and subjective thing.”
“For me, adventure is all about discovery – what am I going to find, and what will it teach me? The photos I picked reflected that sense of encounter, be that with people, animals or the landscape.”
